How to Make Skype Calls to Landline and Mobile Over a 3G Network

free skype call via 3g gprsSkype is now available for most of the platform, from Symbian to Android to nokia (symbian).skype also support sms, video calling feature .the popularity of skype is increasing day by day .

But the biggest problem with adopting Skype as your main source of making local and International calls is its dependency on high-data-rate network, which is mostly wifi. Whenever you’re on a hotspot, you can easily make a call from Skype, but you can’t rely on it since it will require WiFi which is not available whenever required.

The best part would be using a 3G network, whose data rate are sufficient enough to handle a Skype call, and u will always be connected online on skype.another advantage is the monthly data unlimited plan rate are very cheap in 3g  gprs of cellular network .but since this will let cellular company they wont let skype work on 3g feature.

Now this problem has got a solution, and its available only for iPhone users now. There’s an app which you’ll need to install on your iPhone to make calls from Skype using your 3G Network. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Jailbreak your iPhone. Search this blog about “Jailbreak iPhone” and you’ll find some guides, .
  • Launch Cydia, and search for VoIPOver3G. Install it.
  • Turn off WiFi to test the 3G capability. Launch Skype and login to your account.
  • Now you should be able to make calls with Skype.

If you plan to use it more often, then I recommend buying an unlimited data plan from your carrier, since this application would be sucking a lot of bandwidth.

If you have any questions, or faced any problem during the procedure then please feel free to leave a comment below.
