Buy Contract Free iPhones in US Legally .
If you are someone who has always resisted owning an iPhone just because it comes locked with the AT&T contract, here is a good news for you.
Gizmodo reports that according to an Apple’s internal documentation, the iPhone is now available without AT&T contract or ID at any Apple Store. It seems that the iPhone is locked, however, so it will only work with AT&T SIMs. Here are the conditions:
• Customers are not required to have an AT&T contract.
• Customers can only purchase one iPhone per day.
Not too tough, isn’t it? You can always get it unlocked. The price is $499 for the iPhone 3G 8GB, $599 for the iPhone 3GS 16GB, and $699 for the 32GB top model.
I don’t really get the point here. Buying a “locked” but “contract free” iPhone for such a high cost? Factory unlocked iPhones are available for similar prices if not lesser.
