How To Password Protect ,Decrypt or Encrypt Access 2010 Database ?
Password protecting an Access database allows you to protect your sensitive data from prying eyes. In this tutorial, we walk you through the process of encrypting your database and protecting with a password, step by step.
For protecting database we need to open it exclusively. For this launch Access 2010 and On File menu click Open.
Now select the database file on which you want to add protection and from Open options click Open Exclusive, as shown in the screenshot below.

Now navigate to File tab and in backstage view click Encrypt With Password.

Now set a password to encrypt database and click OK.

On opening database you will be asked to enter the passphrase for verification purpose.

If user is authenticated, then he will be able to use database. For decrypting database, you need to open it again in exclusive mode. Once opened in exclusive mode, from backstage view click Decrypt Database.

Upon click, Unset Database Password dialog will appear asking for password to decrypt database. It’s that easy.
