Angry Bird for all – on Multiple Platforms
Released in 2009, Angry Birds has caught the attention of millions of people around the world. Initially, available through the Apple App Store alone, Angry Birds sold over 12 million copies to users of iPhones, iPad and iPod Touch. The runaway success that the game achieved in very little time since its launch encouraged the company to further develop the game on different platforms. Today, you can play this highly addictive and entertaining game for free on various devices. (Image from www.androitapp.com)
Gameplay:
Using a slingshot, the user attacks green pigs that are protected in various structures. These pigs have stolen bird eggs which have made the birds very angry. The aim of each level is eliminate all pigs either by attacking them directly or indirectly using the limited number of birds allotted for the level. Every time, the user completes a level, a new level is unlocked with additions such as stronger structures and different birds that either cause more damage or can attack in a fast mode.
The availability of new and interesting levels and the multiple options of attack make this game interesting and addictive at the same time. Rovio Mobile, the developers of the game, have therefore worked hard and made available these games on different platforms.
On mobile:

It is no longer necessary that you must have an iPhone to play this game. If you have a Java based phone, simply visit the getjar website, download the .jar file for free and install it. Users of phones that run a Symbian OS can visit the Ovi Store and download the game. The store offers different options to its users depending on the version of Symbian that their phone is running. If you are a fan of the game and would like to play the latest release, you can pay a very small fee to Ovi and get the game. Others who are still giving Angry Birds a try can download the free version which is available on the Nokia site.
Windows Desktop:
The legitimate and probably also the safest place to get Angry Birds for Windows is Intel AppUp. Priced at $4.99 on the site, the game is available for users of Windows 7 and Windows Xp alone. It is unlikely that users of Windows 98, 95 (if there are any) would want to install anything else on their systems now. But why have users running Windows Vista on their systems been left out is not clear. So for a small price, you can bring the anger of the birds right to your desktop.
Android:
The good news for Android users is that this ‘App’ is available free of charge at the Android Market. There is nothing more to say, install and enjoy this game and celebrate your day you decided to buy an Android phone and not one running the iOS.
For your browser
Available in over 25 languages and with 1,00,000+ weekly installs Angry Birds is one of the most famous Apps at the Chrome Web Store. Updated regularly, the App is easy to install and quick to run. In case you are not very keen on installing newer Apps, you can also play the game by visiting http://chrome.angrybirds.com/ in your browser. The link opens directly to the game in Chrome but may prompt you to Activate Google Chrome Frame in Internet Explorer.
In case you have unlocked all levels of the game, Rovio Mobile has made available Special Editions like Seasons and Rio for the enthusiastic gamer. All of these are now available on the above mentioned platforms.

I think it’s great how accessible Rovio is making the game, it’s almost impossible not to have a platform that’ll run it.
